Deeply held support through every layer of birth, postpartum, and becoming.

Grounded, emotionally attuned support that honors both the practical and unseen layers of this transition — creating space for you to feel nourished, supported, and deeply cared for.

I see you.

It’s 3 a.m.

You were just discharged from the hospital a few hours ago. Everyone told you to “get some rest,” but instead, you’re sitting in the dark holding this beautiful baby you just brought into the world — completely awake. Completely overwhelmed.

Your body aches.
Your mind won’t slow down.
You can’t stop checking if the baby is breathing.
You’re wondering if what you’re feeling is normal.

And no one prepared you for how enormous this would feel.

No one told you the IV fluids from labor might make breastfeeding more difficult in those first few days.
No one told you your milk might not come in right away.
No one told you how lonely nighttime could feel.
No one told you that you could love your baby more than anything you’ve ever known… and still grieve the version of yourself that existed before.

No one told you that postpartum is not just recovery — it’s transformation.

That healing is physical, emotional, hormonal, relational, and deeply human all at once.

At Scorpio Moon Birth, we believe you deserve to be held through all of it.

Not judged.
Not rushed.
Not expected to “bounce back.”
Not left alone to figure it all out in the dark.

You deserve support that sees the whole picture — your exhaustion, your tenderness, your fear, your strength, your becoming.

This season was never meant to be carried alone.

The Doula Difference

Why hire a doula?

Doula care has consistently shown to improve outcomes for families. Here are some of the benefits you might expect from working with a doula during pregnancy and after delivery:

More time being cared for:

Medical providers spend an average of about 5.75 hours total with patients during the perinatal period. Community-based doulas spend an average of 76 hours supporting each client.

Better Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding Outcomes:

Doula care has been shown to lead to easier and improved breastfeeding intiation (no suffering for days on end with bleeding nipples and a fussy baby berfore you’re able to get help!), and longer breastfeeding duration

Improved birth and recovery outcomes:

Doula care has shown to lower C-section rates, have shorter labor times, and lead to greater overall satisfaction with the birth experience

Reduced risk for developing mental health disorders:

Doula care had 57.5% lower odds of postpartum depression or anxiety compared to those who did not receive doula support

Meet your doula

Erin O’Hara

Erin’s interest in the birth world started from a very young age. At around 8 years old, she would sneak TV time in the afternoons whenever she could to watch TLC’s ‘A Baby Story’. Watching families bring new babies into this world planted the seed of desire to one day be part of families’ birth stories herself.

Erin became a Registered Nurse in 2014 with the plan of working in Labor and Delivery. However, her experience in her clinical rotations left so much to be desired for the ways in which families were cared for. She worked in different departments in the hospital for over a decade, before ultimately “retiring” from hospital-based care after her first child was born. The experience of becoming a mother changed her in every possible way, and returned her to her knowing in the work she was really here to do.

Erin brings a wide array of expertise to this work -including holistic health approaches, nutrition, breathwork, postpartum recovery strategies, and newborn care. She brings over a decade of experience working as a Registered Nurse and a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Leadership. This background provides a unique benefit to families in her care, whether baby is born in the hospital, birth center, or at home.

This is more than support

This is a space to be held.

Families are made in the quiet moments at home after baby is born. The early seasons of parenthood can feel beautiful, overwhelming, transformative, exhausting, sacred, and tender all at once.

Our work is rooted in the understanding that birth and postpartum are not simply events to “get through.” They are profound periods of transformation deserving of community, rest, support, and intentional care.

Scorpio Moon Birth exists to hold that space.

Through nurturing presence, intuitive support, and compassionate care, we help families feel more grounded, connected, and supported as they move through one of life’s most meaningful transitions.
